As the Edinburgh Film Festival re-opens for the first time since the pandemic, Compact has been selected to bring a sneak preview of its debut feature to the Industry section’s Works in Progress showcase, with writer-director Aylin Tezel and co-producer Yvonne Wellie.

FALLING INTO PLACE is a co-production between German Silver Bear-winning Weydemann Bros and Emmy-award winning Compact of Glasgow, written and directed by its German star Aylin Tezel. An English-language feature, the film also stars Chris Fulton (The Witcher), Layo Akinlude (I May Destroy You) and Rory Fleck-Byrne (This is Going To Hurt), and has a score by Mercury-award winning composer Jon Hopkins.

Kira, a young German woman, and Ian, a native returning home, meet all too briefly on a winter weekend in Skye, and connect suddenly, deeply, surprisingly. Returning to London they try to pursue their separate lives – but both have to face their demons before they are ready to really meet in the end.
